Miel (born in May ’84, Amsterdam) and Telmo (born in June ’89, Rotterdam) form the creative duo ‘TelmoMiel’, founded in October 2012. After meeting at the Art Academy in Rotterdam in 2006, they joined hands on a regular basis, evolving from graffiti walls to individual techniques. After a decade of working together on murals, they now focus on individual sketches and paintings, retaining their individual integrity under the common name TelmoMiel.
Their recent work combines figurative elements with abstract and surrealistic aspects, with a growing clarity in concept and interpretation. Their unique concepts reflect aspects of human life, often with a positive, hopeful and playful surreal approach. They experiment with colour palettes and twist nature's logic to emphasise ideas or suggest movement, using both oil paint on canvas and acrylic paint and spray paint on walls.
