The Mauritshuis is located in the heart of The Hague. A small museum with world-famous Dutch and Flemish 17th-century painting. People from all over the world visit us to admire masterpieces such as the Girl with a Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer and the Anatomy Lesson by Rembrandt in real life.
"We are very much looking forward to the mural of Daiara Tukano. It will undoubtedly be a painting with a lot of colours and a deeper story. As a member of the indigenous people of Brazil, she can build a bridge between the present and the time when Johan Maurits, the founder of our house, ruled the colony of Dutch Brazil. In addition to indigenous objects, he also brought people to the Mauritshuis. It is exciting for us to see how Daiara will make that connection.”
