Stefan Thelen (Goes, 1981) is a Dutch artist who uses traditional painting techniques and graphic design to create compositions that manipulate well-known iconography into mind-expanding and curious pieces in the form of paintings, sculptures, murals and installations.
His alter ego, Super A, is the filter through which Stefan Thelen's life and observations are distilled and transformed into inspiration. All his work stems from personal experiences or thoughts that grow into concepts that balance between fiction and non-fiction. Super A takes the viewer to a wonderland, in which Thelen's figurative and modern surrealistic compositions offer playful puzzles to decipher.
The Flood Museum takes you into the experiences of ordinary people with a special story to share about water. About the Disaster of ’53, about the reconstruction and about the floods that are still taking place all over the world. We do this with moving stories, penetrating photos (approx. 20,000) and authentic film footage.
